Why We Do This
Because every puppy and kitten deserves a fair start in life.
In many Namibian communities, veterinary care is simply unaffordable. Right now, too many animals are born into situations where there simply isn't enough food, care, or homes for them all. It is not their fault, and it is something we can change. By working at grassroots level, we help prevent suffering before it starts, instead of trying to solve problems once they have become crises.
Sterilisation is one of the most effective ways to reduce animal suffering. It gently prevents unwanted litters before they begin, which means fewer animals struggling, and more pets living safe, healthy, and loved lives.
But prevention goes beyond sterilisation. Every animal we sterilise is also vaccinated against rabies and treated for parasites. In a country where rabies remains a serious threat to both animals and people, especially children, these simple treatments protect entire communities. Healthy pets create healthier families and communities, making animal welfare an important part of public health.
We focus on prevention because it is kind, practical, and lasting. One small intervention today can prevent hundreds of lives of suffering tomorrow. Have a Heart Spay and Neuter Project Namibia
